In 2023, I created motion graphics for a 40-foot tall holiday tree with IWG Productions at the city center in Newport News, VA, and attended the project launch in person. The tree, wrapped in LED lights, required special attention to color and resolution to ensure the digital animations looked vibrant and seamless. I designed four 2-3 minute animations synchronized with the given songs.

The launch was a fun experience, though it involved a week of late-night testing to refine the visuals. Patterns created on the computer often needed adjustments to align with how they appeared on the tree, including mirroring the results to cover all sides, leading to multiple revisions to achieve the desired effect. xLights was used to adjust colors and add sparkling effects, enabling precise control over the entire light show.
